Originally scored for male choir and 4 horns (ad lib.), these hunt songs have been composed in 1849, clearly intended for the widely spread German choral associationism. Transcribed for 8 cellos, each part shows a moderate difficulty but the work as a whole grasps the main features of Schumann's musical world.
