CAPRICCIO, for violin, cello and strings
When I composed the Capriccio for violin, cello, and strings, I was about 15 or 16 years old. The love for the music of Domenico Scarlatti, so full of rhythm and energy, was something that - along with music of all kinds, from Bach to Rock - I cultivated daily. This piece is inspired by three Sonatas by Scarlatti, although I treated them just as thematic quotations, since the development moves quite far from the source.
VIOLIN SOLO + CELLO SOLO + STRINGS
